The Sustainability Series by o9
This project contains a series of three explainer videos to inform the potential clients on how supplier collaboration help companies achieve a more sustainable supply chain. o9 is a software company specialized in enterprise operations using AI to integrate supply chain, commercial, financial planning to better decision making.
These videos covers themes like environmental footprint, carbon emissions and supplier collaboration. The goal was to explain end encourage organizations to improve their sustainability efforts and connect and make it clear that for o9 solutions sustainability is a part of the brand DNA.
When I began this project, I was genuinely excited to work with such a timely and relevant topic—and to approach it from a fresh visual perspective. My goal was to create something distinctive, with a visual identity that highlights and elevates the importance of sustainability throughout the narrative. I made the art direction and produced the storyboards with designer Itzel Rodriguez, and our motion designers Antonia Diakomopoulou and Natalia Mendenz.
The Story and Style
These videos use a blend of abstract geometric shapes and concrete, figurative illustrative elements. The abstract forms help convey ideas like emissions, processes, or system-wide impacts without overwhelming the users, the more figurative illustrations ground the narrative, providing clarity and context whenever the script introduces companies, actions, or poeple.
By combining these two visual languages, the videos maintain a balance between conceptual storytelling and practical demonstration, ensuring that the audience can easily follow along while still engaging with the broader themes and ideas.
To help the project stand out and clearly communicate its focus on sustainability, we selected a soft pastel color palette with an emphasis on green tones. This ensures the viewer immediately understands that sustainability is at the core of these videos.
